Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality PCU/stepdown nursing care for adult and geriatric patients using telemetry monitoring
• Initiate IV therapy and perform phlebotomy safely and confidently
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias
• Manage cardiac drips (per facility guidelines) and follow heparin protocols
• Titrate and manage insulin drips per unit protocols and manage endocrine/metabolic needs
• Deliver high-flow nasal cannula and other advanced respiratory support as required
• Document patient care accurately in EPIC and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
• Float to equivalent or lower acuity units within the organization as needed to meet patient care demands

Qualifications

• Active RN license (able to practice in Ohio)
• Minimum 2 years of PCU/stepdown experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Hands-on telemetry experience and dysrhythmia interpretation
• IV start skill and comfort with central and peripheral line care
• EPIC electronic charting experience required
• Familiarity with insulin drip protocols, heparin protocols, and cardiac drip management (no titration)
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
