Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform safe, high-quality peri-procedural nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and related procedures
• Collaborate closely with cardiologists, techs, and anesthesia to ensure smooth, efficient procedures
• Monitor hemodynamic status and intervene promptly to maintain patient stability
• Prepare and maintain sterile field and specialized cath lab equipment
• Educate patients and families about procedures, post-procedure care, and follow-up instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice (Compact license accepted where applicable)
• BLS certification required; ACLS required or obtained shortly after hire
• Previous cath lab or interventional cardiology experience preferred
• Comfortable with hemodynamic monitoring, cath lab workflows, and sterile technique
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and ability to communicate clearly under pressure
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with cardiac cath procedures, vascular access, and contrast use
• Proficient in hemodynamic monitoring and EKG interpretation
• Skilled in sterile technique, instrument handling, and procedure setup
• Comfortable using electronic medical records for documentation
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy skills
