Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and stabilize childbearing women and neonates with confidence and compassion
• Develop individualized plans of care and evaluate outcomes to ensure quality
• Provide patient and family education on self-care and newborn care that empowers
• Perform initial neonatal assessment and stabilization as needed
• Document care accurately and thoroughly in the EHR (supporting the Meditech → Epic transition)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate holistic care
• Maintain up-to-date clinical skills and certifications to ensure best outcomes
• Serve as a resource and support for current staff during EHR transition and unit needs

Qualifications

• Current Pennsylvania RN licensure (required)
• Completion of an accredited registered nurse program
• Current BLS (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider) — renews every 2 years
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification — current and renewed per policy
• ACLS certification (AHA Healthcare Provider) — current and renewed every 2 years
• Experience in Labor & Delivery and neonatal care, including neonatal stabilization
• Experience with Epic and Meditech EHRs and willingness to support staff during the Epic go-live
• Strong verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills; able to function as a team liaison

Education

• Completion of an accredited registered nurse program (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• RN nursing care for childbearing women and neonates
• Patient and family education techniques
• Plan of care development and outcome evaluation
• Clinical Labor & Delivery skills and neonatal stabilization
• Documentation and data entry in Meditech and Epic
• Interdisciplinary collaboration and professional communication
• Ability to remain calm, use sound judgment, and apply tact with patients and families
