Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate bedside care to critically ill adult patients in the ICU
• Manage ventilated patients including ventilator settings, suctioning and troubleshooting
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive drips per protocol
• Deliver post-CABG and advanced cardiac post-op care in collaboration with the CV team
• Recognize and escalate changes in patient condition promptly to the multidisciplinary team
• Participate in bedside shift report and maintain clear, accurate documentation
• Support unit goals for patient safety, quality metrics and positive patient experience

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license required; temporary licenses will not be accepted
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU experience preferred per unit requirements
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Strong experience with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring and post-CABG care
• Comfortable working on a high-acuity unit that may include ECMO, heart transplant and CVICU patients
• Professional bedside manner and commitment to bedside shift report and teamwork

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing principles and advanced cardiac postoperative care
• Ventilator management and respiratory therapy collaboration
• Hemodynamic monitoring, titration of vasoactive medications and cardiac rhythms
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and prioritize effectively
• Experience with CVICU-level procedures and equipment is a strong plus
