Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients
• Perform continuous fetal heart monitoring using AWHONN standards and interpret tracings
• Lead and participate in neonatal resuscitation (NRP) when required to support newborns
• Respond rapidly and effectively to obstetric and perinatal emergencies using ACLS/BLS protocols
• Collaborate closely with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists and the care team to optimize outcomes
• Educate and support patients and families through labor, delivery and immediate postpartum care
• Document assessments, interventions and patient progress clearly and professionally
• Participate in unit competency testing and quality improvement initiatives to maintain high standards

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure with License/Certificate Verification required
• Certifications required: NIHSS, BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Fetal Heart Monitoring
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist as required
• Current health and screening requirements (2-step PPD or IGRA, fit test, drug screen, Tdap, MMR, Hep B, Varicella, flu vaccine, COVID-19 vaccine, physical/health statement)
• Comfort and experience working in Labor and Delivery settings and responding to emergent situations

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in labor and delivery nursing and intrapartum care
• Proficient with fetal heart monitoring interpretation (AWHONN-guided)
• Knowledgeable in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization (NRP)
• Competent in ACLS and BLS protocols for maternal and neonatal emergencies
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
• Familiarity with hospital credentialing and license verification processes
