Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' functional abilities and craft personalized occupational therapy plans that help them regain independence
• Provide skilled, evidence-based OT interventions and adaptive strategies to meet patient goals
• Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity of care and clear communication
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic activities, home safety, and adaptive equipment
• Participate in Trinity competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence
• Support discharge planning and safe transitions to the next level of care

Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapist license (OTR) valid for practice in Michigan - license verification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Comfortable using EPIC for clinical documentation and care coordination
• Willingness and ability to complete Trinity-specific competency testing and skills checklists
• Ability to pass required health screenings and testing, including Trinity 10-panel drug screen
• Up-to-date immunizations and health documentation: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, Varicella, and 2-step PPD or IGRA
• Successful completion of fit test, respirator evaluation, color vision screening, and physical/health statement

Education

• Degree in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor's or Master's) and OTR credential preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills in occupational therapy
• Proficient documentation practices and familiarity with EPIC workflows
• Knowledge of adaptive equipment, therapeutic modalities, and activity analysis
• Excellent communication and patient education skills with a patient-centered approach
• Teamwork and collaboration within interdisciplinary care teams
• Time management, prioritization, and the ability to manage a varied caseload
• Understanding of infection control practices and workplace safety protocols
