Roles & Responsibilities

• Direct pharmacy operations for assigned site(s), ensuring safe, efficient medication distribution
• Partner with the director to develop and implement pharmacy policies, procedures and QA standards
• Oversee budgetary, productivity and quality targets and adjust plans to meet goals
• Lead pharmacy information management initiatives, including inventory control and charge systems
• Participate on key interdisciplinary committees (Pharmacy & Therapeutics, Safety, Medication Safety, Information Systems)
• Manage human resources activities: hiring, performance evaluations, staff development and corrective action
• Foster strong working relationships with medical staff and hospital departments to support patient care
• Step into the pharmacy manager role as needed and handle other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• PharmD degree (required)
• Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration or equivalent experience
• Active Wisconsin Pharmacist License (required)
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory/management experience in pharmacy operations
• Proven experience with policy/procedure development, quality assurance and regulatory compliance
• Strong leadership, communication and team-building skills

Education

• PharmD from an accredited college or university
• Completion of ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in pharmacy administration or equivalent experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Pharmacy operations and pharmacy management expertise
• Experience with pharmacy information management systems and inventory control
• Medication safety and quality assurance practices
• Budgeting, financial oversight and productivity management
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and committee participation
• Human resources management and staff development skills
• Ability to analyze problems, develop solutions and implement operational plans
