Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate care to medical-surgical and critically ill patients from admission through discharge
• Operate and monitor advanced medical equipment, including ventilators and multiple IV pumps
• Manage invasive lines such as central lines and arterial (A-line) monitoring with precision
• Perform chest tube management and advanced patient monitoring to maintain patient safety
• Assess patient status and implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision
• Act as a clinical leader on the unit and assist in precepting and mentoring staff
• Coordinate discharge planning and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
• Provide direction to RN, LPN, CNA and support staff while collaborating with providers and charge nurses

Qualifications

• Current Montana RN licensure (required)
• BLS and ACLS certification (required)
• PALS, EPNC, TNCC certifications (preferred)
• Recent experience in Critical Care Nursing and practice in an advanced Medical/Surgical unit (required)
• Demonstrated ability to operate ventilators, manage central/arterial lines, chest tubes, and multiple IV pumps
• Clinical leadership or precepting experience preferred

Education

• Degree from an accredited Nursing Program (e.g., ADN, BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced patient assessment and monitoring skills
• Ventilator management and mechanical ventilation experience
• Central line and arterial line care (A-line management)
• IV management and IV pump operation
• Chest tube care and monitoring
• ACLS and BLS application in critical situations
• Strong clinical judgment, decision-making, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Comfort with basic office equipment and documentation processes
