Shift Type: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; self-scheduling with schedulers' right to rebalance; typically 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks (holidays covered per unit rotation)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert critical care nursing in SICU/MICU/TICU pods—managing complex, high-acuity patients
- Interpret telemetry strips and dysrhythmias, and titrate drips safely per unit protocols
- Manage advanced ventilators (Cervo I, Jets, Oscillators) and collaborate with RTs available 24/7
- Perform and maintain competency in bedside procedures: Foley insertion, central line dressing changes, bronchoscopy and tracheostomy care as needed
- Deliver trauma-level care in a Level 1 trauma ICU, including assessment and rapid intervention for MVAs, GSWs, and head injuries
- Collaborate closely with in-house intensivists to coordinate patient plans and daily goals
- Float among ICU areas and occasional MedSurg/Tele units or Westgate campus as patient needs require
- Participate in required SIMs Lab and orientation, demonstrating sterile technique and facility-specific procedures
Qualifications
- Active RN license (able to submit for AZ license) and current in required state licensure
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience
- Must have Level 1 trauma experience and prior work in a 600+ bed teaching facility
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications; NIHSS certification required
- Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam (2 attempts allowed) and competency-based SIMs Lab on day 1
- Must have reliable personal vehicle for travel assignments
- Willingness to comply with facility appearance/fit-test requirements (natural hair color, no facial piercings; men must be clean-shaven for fit test)
Education
- Active RN license required; BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Ventilator management and familiarity with Cervo I, Jet, and Oscillator ventilators
- Titration of vasoactive drips and infusion management
- Central line care and sterile dressing changes
- Foley catheter insertion and urinary care
- Experience with bronchoscopy and tracheostomy care
- Hemodialysis catheter knowledge and transplant patient care exposure
- Familiarity with Cerner charting system and ICU documentation workflows
