Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate care to critically ill BMT and oncology patients, ensuring safety and comfort
• Manage complex ventilator settings and BIPAP support to optimize respiratory status
• Perform and manage CRRT and A-line monitoring with attention to detail
• Titrate drips and IV infusions safely and accurately, adjusting per protocols
• Deliver total care including trach care, dressing changes, turning and close assessment
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and advocate for patient-centered care
• Document care accurately in Meditech and communicate changes clearly during handoffs
• Maintain patient ratios and prioritize care in a fast-paced ICU environment

Qualifications

• Active RN license (TX or compact) preferred
• Minimum 1 year of ICU/critical care nursing experience (required)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Hands-on experience with ventilator management, BIPAP, CRRT, A-lines and IV pump/drip titration
• Experience with oncology or BMT populations strongly preferred
• Comfortable working rotating weekends and in a small ICU team
• Strong teamwork, communication, and ability to build rapport with physicians and staff

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing principles and total care for severely ill patients
• Ventilator and BIPAP management
• Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
• A-line monitoring and interpretation
• IV pump management and drip titration
• Tracheostomy care and wound/dressing management
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to maintain 2:1 patient ratios and prioritize care in high-acuity settings
