Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients with respiratory insufficiencies, asthma, pneumonia and COPD to deliver high-quality care
• Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators (Servo I, Hamilton, Astral) and noninvasive support including CPAP and BiPAP
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and titrate therapy based on clinical data
• Provide therapeutic treatments including nebulizer therapy and chest physiotherapy (CPT)
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-specific respiratory plans
• Document care accurately and efficiently in the Meditech EMR
• Respond rapidly to emergent respiratory events and codes with clinical confidence
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a patient-safety culture

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (required)
• BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications (required)
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience (required)
• Trauma experience preferred
• Previous Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Demonstrated teamwork, critical thinking and patient-focused approach

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with mechanical ventilators and ventilator management (Servo I, Hamilton, Astral)
• Experience with noninvasive ventilation: CPAP, BiPAP, V60 and Astral devices
• Skilled in arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and interpretation
• Familiarity with nebulizer treatments, CPT and routine respiratory therapeutic procedures
• Comfortable documenting in Meditech and working within a busy acute care environment
• Strong communication skills and collaborative clinician relationships
