Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Provide compassionate bedside care that supports dignity and comfort
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff promptly
• Perform routine vital signs and basic clinical observations accurately
• Document care and observations clearly and timely in the patient record
• Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect patients and colleagues
• Collaborate with the care team to deliver person-centered care plans

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (state of Rhode Island) required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable with overnight and evening shift work
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but enthusiastic new CNAs are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care and ADL assistance
• Basic vital signs measurement and reporting
• Charting and documentation best practices
• Infection control and safety procedures
• Effective communication with residents, families, and team members
• Time management and reliable attendance for scheduled shifts
