Shift Type: Day shifts (4x10-hour): 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM; On-call coverage: approximately 5-6 call shifts every 2 weeks, including every-other-weekend coverage (Fri 5:30 PM - Mon 7:00 AM) with a 30-minute response time; rotating on-call responsibilities include one weekday on-call as scheduled (Day and rotating night coverage)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $70 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform and assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, ensuring high-quality patient care
- Scrub and circulate during procedures such as PCI, TAVR, Watchman, pacemaker/AICD insertions and other cath lab interventions
- Monitor procedural sedation and administer emergency medications as needed while maintaining patient safety
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and provide rapid, decisive interventions when required
- Remove sheaths and apply topical hemostasis (D-Stat, Chito-Seal, Syvek Patch) with attention to vascular integrity
- Provide IV therapy and assist with central line insertion/management when indicated
- Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic to maintain continuity of care and compliance
- Respond to on-call assignments within a 30-minute window and provide dependable coverage every other weekend
- Maintain radiation and laser safety practices and infection prevention standards in the lab
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, mentor peers, and contribute to a positive learning environment
Qualifications
- Active California RN license required (pending licenses are not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of prior Cath Lab experience required; first-time cath lab travelers not accepted
- Current ACLS certification required
- Travel experience preferred and this is a travel/contract assignment
- Epic charting experience required
- Ability to meet a 30-minute on-call response time and provide roughly 5-6 call shifts every 2 weeks, including every-other-weekend coverage
- LA City Fire Card preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred; teaching hospital experience is a plus
- RTO restrictions must be included at time of submission
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology procedures (diagnostic and interventional caths)
- Scrub procedures and circulator duties in the cath lab
- Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) and TAVR familiarity
- Monitoring procedural sedation and managing reversal agents
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Sheath removal and topical hemostasis techniques
- Vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) and ACT monitoring
- Epic electronic charting and computerized documentation
- IV therapy, central line assistance, and ventilator management basics
- Radiation and laser safety, infection prevention, and use of external compression devices
