Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist nursing staff with patient transfers, mobility, and safe positioning
- Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and patient condition changes
- Maintain a clean, safe environment following infection control practices
- Communicate effectively with nurses, families, and the care team about patient needs
- Support resident dignity and comfort by responding promptly and respectfully
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
- Active authorization to work in New Mexico (state CNA registry) as applicable
- Comfort working overnight shifts and adapting to variable per diem schedules
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to patient care
- Willingness to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, safe patient handling
- Familiarity with infection control and resident safety practices
- Clear, timely documentation and communication with the care team
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced long-term care setting
- Teamwork mindset and a patient-centered attitude
