Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to med/surg and telemetry patients with attention to safety and dignity
• Monitor patients on telemetry floors and report changes in condition promptly
• Perform accurate, timely documentation of patient care and vital signs
• Support nurses and the care team during admissions, discharges, and transfers
• Serve as a sitter when assigned, maintaining patient safety and observation
• Assist with activities of daily living including hygiene, mobility, and feeding as needed
• Communicate clearly and courteously with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (state-certified or eligible) — required
• Minimum 1 year of CNA experience preferred, ideally in acute care or telemetry-monitored floors
• Comfortable working as a sitter when needed
• Willingness to work both 8-hour and 12-hour shifts and rotate between day and night
• Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring fundamentals and comfort with monitored patients
• Med/Surg patient care practices and acute care familiarity
• Safe patient handling, transfers, and fall prevention
• Accurate vital signs measurement and basic clinical assessment
• Clear charting and effective communication with nurses and providers
• Infection control and patient safety best practices
