Shift Type: Rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights. Typical shift windows (may vary by facility): Day 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Evening 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Night 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM; schedule includes weekends and holidays as needed
Candidate Pay Rate: $39 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient flow in the emergency department to help the team run smoothly
- Greet and register patients promptly and compassionately at check-in
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in the electronic health record system
- Manage phone triage, direct calls, and communicate clearly with patients and families
- Support admissions, discharges and transfers with precise documentation and coordination
- Collaborate with clinical staff to prioritize tasks and improve department efficiency
- Prepare and process forms, orders and paperwork to keep care moving without delays
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical office or unit clerk training is a plus
- Previous experience as an ED clerk, unit clerk or coordinator preferred
- Comfortable working rotating shifts including days, evenings and nights
- Proficient with electronic health records and basic clerical systems
- Excellent communication, customer service and multitasking skills
- BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; postsecondary medical office training or unit clerk certification preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with medical terminology and ED workflow
- Strong computer skills including EHR navigation and data entry
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality best practices
- Calm under pressure with solid problem-solving and prioritization abilities
- Team-oriented mindset with a focus on compassionate patient interactions
