Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Location: Baltimore, Maryland

Shift Type: Night shift, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (days vary)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
Provide compassionate support during meals and assist with feeding as required
Monitor and document resident observations such as behavior and general condition
Assist with safe transfers and mobility to promote independence and prevent falls
Follow care plans and report changes to the nursing team promptly to ensure excellent continuity of care
Practice infection control and maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and staff
Communicate kindly and clearly with residents, families, and teammates to foster trust and teamwork

Qualifications

GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
High school diploma or equivalent
Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required
Compassion, patience, and strong communication skills

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
Basic vital signs and observational skills
Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
Familiarity with infection control practices
Clear documentation and basic charting abilities
Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork mindset
