Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory care in the ICU to both adult and pediatric patients
• Manage ventilators, airway devices, and advanced respiratory therapies with precision
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
• Perform assessments, document care in Epic, and communicate changes clearly to the care team
• Float between like units as needed to meet patient and facility needs
• Assist with emergency response and advanced airway management as required
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring colleagues and supporting safe practices

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical respiratory therapy experience (ICU experience strongly preferred)
• Comfortable and experienced working with both adult and pediatric ICU patients
• Current state respiratory therapy license required; pending licenses are not accepted
• Familiarity with Epic charting preferred
• Willingness to float within scope to meet facility needs and to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Education

• Associate degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy or related field
• Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical thinking and ventilator management skills
• Proficiency in advanced airway management and respiratory equipment
• Ability to document accurately and efficiently in Epic
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Flexibility to float between similar units and adapt to changing patient needs
• Comfort working nights and covering every-other-weekend schedule
