Shift Type: Typically Day 4x10, 06:45 AM - 04:45 PM (start time may vary 06:00 - 06:45). On-call rotation every 6 weeks: 2 weeknights 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM and one 48-hour weekend (Sat 07:00 AM - Mon 07:00 AM). Rotating shifts including weekends and night call as scheduled.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain case carts, instrument sets and specialty trays for a high-volume OR
• Scrub and assist during laparoscopic, robotic (DaVinci Xi), general, orthopedic and neurosurgical cases
• Maintain strict aseptic technique, instrument processing, and sterilization/disinfection standards
• Perform accurate counts and documentation, and chart procedures in Epic
• Float to Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro when required to support regional needs
• Cover scheduled call requirements for neurosurgery and provide skilled support during night/weekend coverage
• Operate and support robotics and specialty equipment (e.g., DaVinci Xi, Mako) during cases
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to a learning-focused, safety-first OR culture

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of OR/Surgical Technologist experience (per job requirements)
• BLS certification required
• Proven scrub experience with Case Cart setup, laparoscopic scrub and DaVinci Xi robotic cases
• Comfortable charting in Epic and following facility documentation processes
• Willingness to take scheduled call and to float to Little Company of Mary San Pedro as needed
• Preferred experience with neonates/infants/pediatrics, trauma Level I, teaching and community hospital settings
• Familiarity with orthopedic robotics (Mako), ophthalmic cases, vascular cases and assembly & wrap

Knowledge & Skills

• Aseptic technique and instrument processing expertise
• Sterilization/disinfection protocols and equipment handling
• Laparoscopic and endoscopic assisted procedures
• Robotic surgery support (DaVinci Xi and other platforms)
• Case cart preparation and OR supply management
• Experience across specialties: general, ortho, neuro, urology, GYN, ENT and ophthalmology
• Ability to use power drills and specialty orthopedic instruments
• Strong teamwork, communication and patient safety focus
