Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts — Day shift options: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM; Night shift options: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM or 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM. Position provides 24-hour emergency coverage; specific shift assignments vary by schedule (rotating day/night coverage).

Candidate Pay Rate: $245 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency medical care to patients of all ages in a busy ER environment
- Triage, evaluate, and stabilize acute and urgent presentations efficiently and compassionately
- Order and interpret imaging (CT, X-ray) and laboratory studies and act on results promptly
- Perform and supervise necessary procedures and coordinate with surgical services when needed
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
- Document patient encounters accurately using the facility’s timekeeping/EMR systems (DocTime for clock in/out)
- Contribute to a culture of safety, quality improvement, and patient-centered care
Qualifications
- Board-certified in Emergency Medicine (explicit requirement)
- Physician (MD or DO) credentialed to practice emergency medicine
- Active state medical license in Michigan or ability to obtain licensure in Michigan
- Current immunization/titer documentation required: Hep B, MMR, Varicella; flu for current season; COVID documentation; TB within 12 months; TDAP within last 10 years
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced ER with projected volumes up to ~40 patients/day
- Familiarity with DocTime or willingness to follow site timekeeping procedures
- Malpractice coverage arrangements (facility requires malpractice to be included per policy)
Education
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical judgment in emergency medicine and acute care workflows
- Experience with CT and X-ray utilization and interpretation in the ED setting
- Ability to manage high patient volumes and prioritize effectively
- Proficiency in emergency procedures and stabilization techniques
- Effective communication and teamwork skills across nursing, lab, and surgical teams
- Familiarity with electronic timekeeping/EMR systems (DocTime experience a plus)
- Knowledge of occupational health clearance requirements and credentialing process
