Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on personal care (bathing, dressing, toileting) and promote patient independence
• Perform and accurately document vital signs and promptly report abnormalities to the RN
• Follow each patient’s plan of care and complete timely, policy-compliant documentation
• Assist with ambulation, transfers and safe patient handling using proper positioning techniques
• Monitor skin integrity and implement pressure prevention measures per care plan
• Comply with infection prevention and control policies to keep patients and staff safe
• Build positive, respectful relationships with patients and families as part of the care team
• Communicate changes in patient condition to nursing staff and participate in interdisciplinary collaboration

Qualifications

• Active Michigan CNA license (must be current and active)
• BLS (AHA) certification — required and current
• Minimum 2+ years of CNA experience
• Comfortable using Microsoft Windows and Epic EMR (experience preferred)
• Profile requirements: up-to-date work history and a skills checklist current to 1 year
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years
• Must provide permanent address (facility will not consider local candidates — 100 mile rule); travel assignment experience highly preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Personal care skills: bathing, dressing, toileting, oral and skin care
• Vital signs measurement and timely documentation
• Infection prevention and control best practices
• Pressure injury prevention and skin integrity monitoring
• Safe patient handling, positioning and transfers
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families and team members
• Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Windows) and familiarity with Epic EMR
• Teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration
