Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to assigned patients, ensuring dignity and safety
• Assess patient status and report changes promptly to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments accurately according to plan of care
• Document patient care and interventions clearly and timely in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and providers to coordinate care and improve outcomes
• Educate patients and families on condition management, medications, and discharge planning
• Follow infection control practices and maintain a safe, clean environment
• Participate in shift handoffs and contribute to continuous quality improvement

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license valid in New Mexico (required)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or equivalent (required)
• Prior LPN experience in clinical settings preferred; travel LPN experience is a plus
• Comfortable working 12+ hour day shifts and managing multiple patient assignments
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Proof of immunizations and background checks as required by facility

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program or equivalent diploma/certificate

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and accurate charting
• Patient assessment and monitoring of vitals
• Wound care and basic dressing changes
• Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation standards
• Infection control, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance
• Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
• Compassionate patient and family education
