Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to assigned patients, ensuring dignity and safety
- Assess patient status and report changes promptly to the care team
- Administer medications and treatments accurately according to plan of care
- Document patient care and interventions clearly and timely in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and providers to coordinate care and improve outcomes
- Educate patients and families on condition management, medications, and discharge planning
- Follow infection control practices and maintain a safe, clean environment
- Participate in shift handoffs and contribute to continuous quality improvement
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license valid in New Mexico (required)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or equivalent (required)
- Prior LPN experience in clinical settings preferred; travel LPN experience is a plus
- Comfortable working 12+ hour day shifts and managing multiple patient assignments
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Proof of immunizations and background checks as required by facility
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program or equivalent diploma/certificate
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and accurate charting
- Patient assessment and monitoring of vitals
- Wound care and basic dressing changes
- Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation standards
- Infection control, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance
- Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
- Compassionate patient and family education
