Roles & Responsibilities

• Admit patients promptly and safely, managing initial assessments and documentation
• Round on inpatients, develop and update treatment plans, and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams
• Manage an average census of 18-20 patients while prioritizing patient safety and throughput
• Document care thoroughly and efficiently in Cerner EMR to support continuity and billing
• Communicate clearly with families, consultants, and nursing staff to ensure cohesive care
• Triage and escalate clinical issues appropriately given a closed ICU environment
• Provide reliable weekend coverage and occasional weekday shifts as scheduled

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (hospitalist training a plus)
• Active New York medical license or ability to obtain one in a timely manner
• Experience in hospital medicine with admitting and rounding responsibilities
• Comfortable working in Cerner EMR
• Weekend availability and willingness to provide locum tenens coverage
• Ability to start as soon as possible if selected

Education

• MD or DO

• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical record
• Census management and prioritization
