Roles & Responsibilities
- Admit patients promptly and safely, managing initial assessments and documentation
- Round on inpatients, develop and update treatment plans, and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams
- Manage an average census of 18-20 patients while prioritizing patient safety and throughput
- Document care thoroughly and efficiently in Cerner EMR to support continuity and billing
- Communicate clearly with families, consultants, and nursing staff to ensure cohesive care
- Triage and escalate clinical issues appropriately given a closed ICU environment
- Provide reliable weekend coverage and occasional weekday shifts as scheduled
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (hospitalist training a plus)
- Active New York medical license or ability to obtain one in a timely manner
- Experience in hospital medicine with admitting and rounding responsibilities
- Comfortable working in Cerner EMR
- Weekend availability and willingness to provide locum tenens coverage
- Ability to start as soon as possible if selected
Education
- MD or DO

- Hospital medicine and inpatient care
- Patient admissions and initial management
- Daily rounding and care coordination
- Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical record
- Census management and prioritization
- Working within a closed ICU model and appropriate escalation pathways
- Strong clinical judgment, time management, and team communication
