Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room
• Assist surgical teams across general, orthopedic, neuro, trauma and vascular cases with precision and calm
• Manage complex CVOR cases when assigned, including open heart and endovascular procedures such as TAVR
• Operate and support advanced OR technology including robotic systems, Mako robot, Stryker towers and microscopes
• Document care accurately in Meditech and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including the Cath lab
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide support for weekend coverage as needed
• Mentor and support newer staff and help maintain unit standards and patient safety

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to practice in Texas); current licensure required
• Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room experience for general OR roles
• For CVOR roles: minimum 2 years CVOR experience including adult open heart and endovascular cases, and experience with TAVR
• Comfort working with a broad case mix (general, ortho, neuro, trauma, vascular) and varied OR equipment
• Willingness to work varied shifts, participate in call, and be flexible with case assignments

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and active RN licensure (Associate or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative nursing skills and familiarity with sterile technique
• Experience with Meditech electronic medical record
• Experience with robotic surgery platforms (DaVinci Xi) and Mako robot
• Familiarity with endovascular hybrid room equipment and CATH lab collaboration
• Ability to support cases such as CABG, valve procedures, TAVR, TEVAR/EVAR and complex vascular surgery
• Good communication, teamwork, and adaptability in a fast-paced OR environment
