Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM (day shifts), every-other-weekend (EOW); holiday coverage as needed

Candidate Pay Rate: $41 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac telemetry for a regional service covering multiple hospitals and promptly identify abnormalities
- Interpret EKG strips and document findings clearly and accurately
- Manage and adjust alarms per protocol to support patient safety and reduce noise
- Chart observations and interventions in EPIC and other electronic medical record systems
- Communicate effectively with bedside staff using Vocera and Mobile Heartbeat to coordinate care
- Prioritize and multitask across 45-55 patients while maintaining attention to detail
- Escalate critical events through the chain of command and support bedside teams as needed
- Participate in orientation activities and pass the required EKG competency test
Qualifications
- Basic EKG interpretation training (required)
- Prior monitor tech experience (2 years preferred)
- Strong communication skills and comfort using Vocera and Mobile Heartbeat
- Experience with Philips and GE monitoring systems is a plus
- Familiarity with electronic charting (EPIC or similar EMR)
- Ability to stay organized, multitask, and work in a fast-paced monitoring center
- Willingness to complete orientation and EKG competency testing
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of basic EKG interpretation training (required)
- EPIC training provided during orientation
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and alarm management
- EKG rhythm recognition and interpretation
- EPIC (EMR) charting and documentation
- Use of Philips and GE cardiac monitors
- Communication platforms like Vocera and Mobile Heartbeat
- Prioritization and multitasking in high-volume monitoring settings
- Understanding of telemetry protocols across med-surg, PCU and ICU patients
