Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; schedule includes nights across the week with weekend rotation (typically 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; some units operate every-other-weekend). Must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays. Night shift / rotating

Roles & Responsibilities
- Titrate cardiac drips safely and confidently per unit protocols
- Interpret EKGs and promptly identify and respond to dysrhythmias
- Provide high-quality bedside care for telemetry and med-surgical patients (age 15+)
- Float between Telemetry, Cardiac Tele, ICU and MedSurg units as needed across campuses
- Collaborate closely with physicians, RTs, pharmacists and PCTs to coordinate patient care
- Document care accurately and timely in Cerner and communicate changes during handoffs
- Participate in required pre-hire dysrhythmia testing and pass a sim lab during orientation
- Support unit flow by staffing observation areas, cath lab holds and other holding areas when needed
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Arizona or ability to obtain prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in telemetry or med-surg
- Current BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS certification required for Neuro shifts
- Demonstrated ability to titrate cardiac drips (mandatory)
- Comfortable interpreting EKGs and completing a dysrhythmia exam (pass required prior to contract)
- Willingness to float to multiple units and to travel between Chandler and Mercy Gilbert campus (approx. 9 miles apart)
- Strong communication, clinical judgment and ability to work autonomously on night shifts
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and centralized telemetry interpretation
- EKG rhythm recognition and dysrhythmia management
- Cardiac medication management including titration of drips (Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, Dobutamine adjustments)
- Med-surgical nursing fundamentals and post-op care (CABG, vascular, ortho, oncology cases)
- Experience with Cerner charting and clinical documentation
- IV skills and familiarity working alongside IV teams or SWAT nurses
- Comfort using spectralink phones and communicating across units/campuses
