Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory care to adult (and NICU where applicable) patients, running all vents including Servo I, Jets and Oscillators
• Assist with bronchoscopies and partner with the team during procedures
• Manage and interpret ABGs and titrate respiratory support (BiPAP V60, CPAP) to optimize patient outcomes
• Serve as lead on duty for your shift — coordinate responses, support staff, and help with clinical decision-making
• Respond to Clinical Response Team calls alongside the Lead to deliver timely care in critical situations
• Accurately document all care in Cerner and validate skills during unit orientation
• Maintain high standards of time management, communication, and teamwork in a very high-acuity environment

Qualifications

• AZ RT license in hand (required)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential via NBRC (required)
• Minimum 2 years of strong ICU experience; job posting lists 3 years of overall experience
• BLS required; NRP required for assignments that include NICU; ACLS preferred
• Proven ability to assist with bronchoscopies
• Experience as a lead/charge RT or demonstrated leadership on shift is a plus
• Cerner charting experience required

Education

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with mechanical ventilators (Servo I, Jets, Oscillators) and ventilator management
• Hands-on experience with BiPAP V60 and CPAP
• Strong ABG analysis and interpretation skills
• High-acuity critical care expertise and fast, calm decision-making
• Bronchoscopy assistance experience
• Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork abilities
• Comfort leading on shift and handling clinical response scenarios
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic charting
