Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; rotating schedule including weekdays and every-other-weekend (may be every 3rd weekend); holidays worked as part of permanent staff rotation. Guaranteed 36 hours per week.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality telemetry and neuro nursing care for patients on Tele Neuro 2B (28-bed unit)
• Interpret EKGs and monitor patients using GE telemetry systems to detect and respond to dysrhythmias
• Administer and titrate basic drips and maintain close neuro checks for CVA/post-TPA patients
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team including intensivists, RT, and pharmacy available 24/7
• Serve as a reliable team member during every-other-weekend rotations and holiday coverage
• Complete required competency checks including the UNA Dysrhythmia Exam and pass the day-one sim lab
• Float to sister units (Cardiac Tele / MedSurg Oncology) as needed while maintaining high standards of care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the appropriate jurisdiction (must be eligible to work in AZ assignment)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (telemetry and acute care experience strongly preferred)
• Travel nursing experience and prior Cerner charting experience are required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification required
• UNA Dysrhythmia Exam required prior to signing contract (2 max attempts)
• Comfortable interpreting EKGs and working with GE telemetry monitors
• Able to work a 1:4 patient ratio and participate in weekend/holiday rotations

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• BSN not required for this role

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry and cardiac monitoring skills, including EKG interpretation
• Neuro nursing knowledge for CVA/post-TPA care and neurologic assessments
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic health record
• Ability to titrate basic infusion drips and manage post-op telemetry patients
• Excellent critical thinking, communication, and teamwork in acute care settings
• Familiarity with acute care workflows, rapid response processes, and sim lab assessments
