Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, primarily days with every 3rd weekend and 3 of 6 major holidays required
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert, compassionate care for critically ill neonates in a Level 4 NICU environment
- Perform advanced neonatal assessments and intervene promptly to stabilize patients
- Maintain sterile technique and perform procedures such as Foley insertion and central line dressing changes
- Serve as charge nurse and high-risk RN resource when assigned, coordinating care and leading the team
- Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacy, and multidisciplinary teams 24/7
- Document care accurately in Cerner EMR and communicate clearly with families and providers
- Participate in SIMs Lab, lifts, restraints, and wound care education to meet unit competency expectations
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Minimum 3 years of NICU experience, with Level 4 experience required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications; Cardiac STABLE certification highly preferred
- Demonstrated competency in sterile field practices and required procedure skills
- Experience with Cerner EMR
- Willingness to complete and pass SIMs Lab (Foley and central line skills) prior to or on day one
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred; ECMO and charge nurse experience a plus
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BSN preferred but not explicitly required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong neonatal critical care knowledge including prematurity, cardiac defects, and cooling protocols
- Infection control and sterile technique mastery
- Skill in procedural care: Foley catheter insertion, central line dressing changes
- Familiarity with NICU equipment and team workflows; comfortable working with RT-managed vents
- Ability to function as a high-risk RN resource and lead in fast-paced situations
