Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, grooming and mealtime support
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric patients in a rehab setting
- Monitor resident condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly
- Support therapy goals by helping with mobility, transfers and exercises as directed
- Document care and observations clearly and accurately in resident records
- Work collaboratively with RNs, therapists and the care team to deliver person-centered care
- Create a safe, respectful and dignified environment for every resident
Qualifications
- GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required or equivalent state certification
- Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) preferred
- Comfortable working with older adults and patients in rehabilitation
- Ability to pass required background checks, health screenings and drug tests
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or CNA certification with GNA experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and safe transfer/mobility techniques
- Basic clinical observation: recognizing changes in condition
- Time management and documentation skills
- Compassionate patient interaction and effective communication with families
- Familiarity with infection control and resident safety protocols
