Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality direct patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement and evaluate
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond quickly to changes in patient status
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate changes to physicians
• Provide patient and family education to support recovery and self-care
• Document care accurately in the Meditech EMR and maintain standards of care
• Collaborate with the care team and guide other nursing personnel as needed
• Float to units within your competency to support staffing and broaden your skills

Qualifications

• Current, valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross) required
• Current ACLS (AHA or Red Cross) required
• PALS preferred/required per posting
• DCI/BVP certification listed in the job requirements
• Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital experience (telemetry/med-surg experience highly valued)
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Ability and willingness to float to other competent units

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring expertise
• Strong patient assessment and clinical evaluation skills
• Solid Med/Surg nursing knowledge and acute care practices
• Proficiency with Meditech or similar EMR systems
• Excellent communication, critical thinking and prioritization skills
• Patient/family education and teaching skills
• Comfort responding quickly and accurately to clinical changes
