Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties as a Certified Medical Assistant to support the spinal surgeon and care team
• Use Elations EHR to document visits, update patient records, and manage clinical workflows
• Coordinate patient scheduling for appointments and surgical procedures with attention to detail
• Complete prior authorizations for procedures to ensure timely approvals and care
• Assist with patient intake, vitals, and basic clinical tasks to keep the clinic running smoothly
• Support clinic operations including phone triage, patient communications, and administrative tasks
• Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize patient flow and deliver an excellent patient experience

Qualifications

• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential required
• Minimum experience working in an outpatient clinic; experience in a spinal surgeon's office highly preferred
• Comfortable using Elations EHR or similar electronic medical record systems
• Demonstrated experience with prior authorizations and procedure scheduling
• Excellent communication skills and professional bedside manner
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week), Monday through Friday

Education

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential
• High school diploma or GED required; postsecondary medical training preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with EHR systems (Elations preferred)
• Strong knowledge of prior authorization processes and payer documentation
• Patient scheduling and clinic operations expertise
• Familiarity with spine surgery workflows and basic orthopedic terminology
• HIPAA and patient confidentiality best practices
• Efficient multitasking, organization, and time management in a busy clinic
