Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care to medical/surgical patients needing advanced monitoring
Operate advanced medical equipment including central lines, A-lines, multiple IV pumps, and ventilatory support
Care for general medical and surgical patients on the inpatient unit
Assess and implement policies and procedures with minimal supervision
Act as a clinical leader and precept staff
Provide comprehensive care from admission to discharge including discharge planning
Give direction to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, housekeeping, and dietary staff

Qualifications

Current State of Montana RN Licensure
BLS certification
ACLS certification
PALS, EPNC, TNCC certifications preferred
Practice in an advanced Medical/Surgical Unit
Recent Critical Care Nursing experience

Education

Degree Nursing Program

Knowledge & Skills

Advanced Nursing Principles and Procedures
Use of multiple IV pumps
Operate advanced medical equipment
A-lines
Invasive lines
Chest tubes
Ventilatory Support
Use of basic office equipment
