Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver critical care to neuro patients managing ventilators and intracranial pressure monitoring
• Monitor telemetry and respond swiftly to neurological emergencies like strokes and traumatic brain injuries
• Perform IV starts, arterial line management, and ventilator care with precision and compassion
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including rapid response and lift teams for optimal patient outcomes
• Float to equivalent units ensuring seamless high-acuity care across the facility

Qualifications

• 2 years of Neuro ICU experience, with strong focus on neuro cases
• BCLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from AHA
• Proficiency in Epic EHR system
• Previous travel experience preferred, especially in teaching hospitals and Trauma Level I settings

Education

• RN licensure with relevant Neuro ICU background

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in IV therapy, central line and PICC management, blood product administration
• Ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and suctioning
• Neurological skills including EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, post-craniotomy care
• Cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation, 12-lead EKG, titrating drips
• Infection prevention, isolation protocols, phlebotomy, and emergency response
