Roles & Responsibilities

• Maintain a sterile field and ensure instrumentation is ready and safe for every procedure
• Prepare the operating room and supplies in a neat, efficient manner for each case
• Communicate clearly with the perioperative team to support excellent patient care following AORN standards
• Handle, pass, and troubleshoot surgical instruments during cases with confidence and attention to detail
• Stock and order supplies to keep the department running smoothly
• Provide additional intraoperative patient support as directed by the surgical team

Qualifications

• Unrestricted license to practice as a Surgical Technologist in the State of Colorado, or ability to obtain prior to start
• Basic Life Support (BLS) — may be obtained upon hire if needed
• Preferred: 2 years recent O.R. experience
• Preferred: Surgical Technologist certification (NCCT TS-C or NBSTSA CST)
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
• Able to safely function in a high-elevation environment (approximately 8,000-foot elevation)
• Travelers must arrange their own housing and be prepared for local living conditions

Knowledge & Skills

• Sterile technique and sterile field maintenance
• Familiarity with a wide range of surgical instruments and instrument handling
• Perioperative care and intraoperative patient support
• Operating room preparation and supply management
• Perioperative communication and teamwork aligned with AORN standards
• Stocking and ordering supplies efficiently
• Basic Life Support (BLS) competency
