Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM (Day) with a rotating scheduled day off; includes required on-call: 1x 24-hour weekend shift per month and 3 weeknight call shifts per month covering 6:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Call response time: 30 minutes. Rotating (day with required on-call nights/weekends).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Support surgical teams in a busy OR environment by circulating and scrubbing for cases across orthopedics, podiatry, ENT, plastics, and general surgery
• Operate and assist with robotic platforms, including Stryker MAKO for total joints and Da Vinci when needed
• Prepare, maintain, and verify sterile instrumentation and implants for high-volume cases (avg ~15 cases/day across 5 suites)
• Anticipate surgeon needs and provide efficient instrument handling to keep cases moving smoothly
• Accurately document procedures and perioperative information in EPIC
• Respond quickly and professionally to on-call notifications with a 30-minute response expectation
• Collaborate with charge nurses and OR leadership to coordinate patient flow and room turnover
• Participate in unit orientation and share best practices with new team members

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of operating room experience with strong orthopedic experience (approx. 65% ortho: total joints — knees, hips, shoulders)
• Washington state license required
• BLS certification required
• Stryker MAKO robot experience required
• CST preferred; CNOR preferred for RNs if applicable
• Comfort with circulating duties and the ability to scrub when required for RNs
• Experience charting in EPIC or similar EMR
• Ability to work scheduled day shifts and fulfill required on-call coverage

Education

• BSN: Not required
• CST preferred or equivalent surgical technologist training
• RN candidates: CNOR preferred (if applicable)

Knowledge & Skills

• Operating Room procedures and sterile technique
• Circulating and scrubbing workflows
• Orthopedic instrumentation and total joint procedures
• Stryker MAKO robotic system operation
• Familiarity with Da Vinci robotic cases
• Proficient documentation in EPIC
• Basic Life Support (BLS) competency
• Ability to work effectively on a fast-paced, high-volume surgical team
