Location: Burien, Washington

End Date: 09-28-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Block scheduling; every other weekend, 1 summer and 1 winter holiday; call standby required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Attend deliveries as the baby nurse, providing immediate care to newborns
Start and maintain IV lines, titrate drips including D5W and TPN
Assist with umbilical line placement and maintenance
Manage Bubble CPAP, Hiflow, and ventilator support prior to transfer
Transfer patients to higher level of care when needed
Flex between SCN and postpartum assignments as unit needs dictate

Qualifications

Active RN license in Washington State
Current BLS and NRP certifications
Minimum 2 years experience in NICU Level 2 and postpartum nursing preferred
Skilled in attending deliveries and providing newborn resuscitation
Proficient in IV start and maintenance, and drip titration

Knowledge & Skills

NICU Level 2 care including phototherapy, hypoglycemia, respiratory distress, and sepsis
Postpartum nursing for mother-baby couplets
Bubble CPAP, Hiflow, CPAP, BiPap, and ventilator management prior to transfer
