Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Location: Bakersfield, CA
Start Date: 06-13-2026
End Date: 09-12-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Day shift, approximately 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday, with rotating on-call after 4:30 PM weekdays and rotating weekends
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures including cardiac SPECT, bone scans, bleed studies, and gastric emptying
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals and operate GE imaging equipment
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging studies
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team to deliver high-quality care
- Maintain accurate records and follow radiation safety protocols
Qualifications
- Valid California Nuclear Medicine Technology License (CA NMTL)
- Current BLS certification from AHA
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nuclear Med Tech
- Ability to float between facilities (approx. 6.5 miles to Mercy Downtown)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in cardiac SPECT, bone scans, and other nuclear medicine studies
- Experience with GE imaging equipment and PACS systems (Radnet, Merge Unity)
- Strong patient care and communication skills
- Knowledge of radiation safety and ALARA principles
