Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to laboring mothers and postpartum couplets in a 4-bed L&D and 7-bed postpartum unit
• Monitor and titrate IV drips including magnesium, oxytocin, and pain management medications
• Support patients through labor, delivery, and recovery while following AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios
• Assist with neonatal resuscitation and CPAP/BiPAP/high flow as needed
• Collaborate with charge nurse and providers to ensure safe, high-quality care in a rural hospital setting
• Float to MSP/ED for patient sitting and 1:1 supervision when needed
• Participate in C-sections by circulating for the baby while surgery staff handle the procedure

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Dakota or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent LDRP experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Ability to pass fit testing for required respirators (no facial hair that would interfere)
• Strong team player with excellent communication and independent decision-making skills
• Willingness to float and adapt to a rural hospital setting with limited NICU access

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in fetal monitoring (EFM) and OB TraceVue system
• In-depth knowledge of AWHONN guidelines and best practices for perinatal care
• Skilled in titrating and managing IV drips (magnesium, oxytocin, etc.)
• Comfortable with neonatal respiratory support equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, high flow)
• Ability to work autonomously and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with postpartum care and newborn assessments
