Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality critical care to trauma, burn and surgical ICU patients with compassion and precision
• Perform specialized procedures such as wound care, EVD management, and MTP participation when needed
• Respond quickly and effectively to codes and emergent situations to support patient stability
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—physicians, respiratory therapists, and tech staff—to coordinate care
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Meditech to ensure continuity and safety
• Mentor and assist colleagues on the unit, fostering teamwork and a positive unit culture

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU/critical care experience (Trauma, Burn, or Surgical ICU experience required)
• Comfortable with critical care equipment and high-acuity patient ratios (ICU 2:1)
• Willingness to float to MSICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU or PCU as needed
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills — team players who ask questions and offer help are ideal
• BSN and CCRN are preferred but not required

Education

• BSN preferred; active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with critical care equipment and technologies used in Burn/Trauma ICUs
• Proficient documentation and charting in Meditech
• Clinical skills in wound care, EVD management, and massive transfusion protocol (MTP)
• Clear, professional communication and strong critical thinking under pressure
• Team-based approach and flexibility to adapt across ICU specialties
