Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered perioperative nursing care in the operating room
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs to ensure smooth cases
• Perform preoperative assessments and communicate patient needs to the team
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure operating room protocols are followed
• Document care accurately and timely, including handoffs and perioperative records
• Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist completion
• Support patient and family education around surgical procedures and recovery

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (Oregon preferred or compact where applicable)
• BLS certification required
• Operating Room experience and comfort with perioperative processes
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist as required
• Successfully pass required pre-placement screening: Fit Test, 10-panel drug screen, color vision check
• Up-to-date immunizations and health requirements: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, Varicella, and 2-step PPD or IGRA
• Physical/health statement and license/certificate verification prior to start

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of an accredited nursing program and active RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and infection prevention
• Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and manage instrumentation flow
• Skilled in perioperative patient assessment and documentation
• Comfortable with OR equipment and safety protocols
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced environments
• Detail-oriented with strong time management during case turnover
