Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality direct patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, evaluate
• Provide cardiac monitoring and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Coordinate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members about patient status and diagnostic results
• Educate patients and families, guiding them through care plans and discharge instructions
• Float between Telemetry and Med-Surg units as required, maintaining standards of care across both areas
• Supervise and direct nursing support staff while ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license with Nursys verification (California license required for practice in CA)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Demonstrated competence in telemetry monitoring and med-surg nursing
• Completion of Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam as part of onboarding
• Ability to pass required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap, drug screen, fit test, color-blind test)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment skills and application of the nursing process
• Experience with telemetry and cardiac monitoring
• Hands-on med-surgical nursing skills including direct patient care and symptom management
• Patient and family education techniques and clear clinical communication
• Familiarity with hospital documentation, medication administration, and basic emergency response
• Comfort floating between units and adapting to different team workflows
