Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room to support excellent patient outcomes
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure a safe surgical environment for patients and team members
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Assess and monitor patients pre-, intra- and post-operatively and respond to changing clinical needs
• Document patient care accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity and compliance
• Participate in unit call rotation and support staffing needs as required

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Texas (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience — acute care/Operating Room preferred
• Experience with EPIC charting system (required)
• BSN preferred but not required
• Ability to work 10-hour day shifts and participate in on-call rotation

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven perioperative/Operating Room nursing skills and sterile technique
• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment in acute care settings
• Proficiency with EPIC documentation and electronic charting best practices
• Familiarity with surgical instruments, OR workflow, and patient safety protocols
• Effective communication and teamwork skills in high-paced environments
• Ability to handle call responsibilities and adapt to schedule needs
