Roles & Responsibilities

Perform thorough pre-operative assessments for pediatric patients with compassion and attention to detail
Prepare patients and families for procedures, providing clear instructions and emotional support
Coordinate effectively with the surgical and perioperative team to ensure smooth transitions
Document assessments, interventions, and patient education accurately in the medical record
Maintain a safe, clean pre-op environment and adhere to infection control standards
Participate actively in orientation and continuing education to maintain clinical excellence

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse licensure (ability to practice in Missouri)
Experience or strong interest in pre-operative nursing and pediatrics
Comfort working in a fast-paced pre-op environment and providing family-centered care
Willingness to complete orientation as provided by the facility
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric patient assessment and age-appropriate communication
Pre-operative assessment and preparation workflows
Accurate clinical documentation and use of electronic health records
Infection control practices and perioperative safety
Teamwork, time management, and patient/family education
