Roles & Responsibilities

• Start and manage IVs and peripheral/PICC line care to ensure safe vascular access
• Administer medications safely and monitor patient responses
• Continuously monitor vitals and cardiac telemetry; interpret dysrhythmias and act appropriately
• Participate in Rapid Response/Code teams and emergency response when needed
• Provide patient education on treatments and self-care to promote recovery and discharge readiness
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute patient care plans
• Document care thoroughly in EPIC EMR to maintain accurate, timely patient records
• Float to lower-acuity units as needed while maintaining unit standards and patient safety
• Provide specialized care such as chest tube management, oxygen therapy, and isolation precautions

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license
• Minimum 2 years of acute care/clinical nursing experience
• BCLS (BLS) certification required
• IV certification required or demonstrable IV/vascular access competency
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and multitasking abilities
• Comfortable working night shifts and floating to other units when needed

Knowledge & Skills

• IV therapy, starting and maintaining IVs
• Medication administration and safe practices
• Patient monitoring, vital signs, and telemetry/cardiac monitoring
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Rapid Response and Code team participation
• PICC line and peripheral line management
• Chest tube care and oxygen administration
• Isolation precautions and appropriate PPE use
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and time management
