Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients, ensuring safe recovery
Closely monitor vital signs and patient status, recognizing and escalating changes quickly
Perform thorough assessments and manage pain and complications in the PACU setting
Communicate clearly and professionally with surgical, anesthesia and pediatric teams
Document patient care accurately and complete timely handoffs to receiving units
Participate actively in orientation and ongoing training to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
Experience or strong familiarity with PACU and pediatric nursing (post-anesthesia care)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Willingness and ability to complete required orientation
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Comfort working with pediatric patients and their families

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, diploma or BSN)
State RN licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

Post-anesthesia care principles and recovery monitoring
Pediatric assessment, pain management and family-centered care
Ability to recognize and respond to post-op complications
Clear clinical documentation and effective handoff communication
Collaborative teamwork within multidisciplinary surgical and anesthesia teams
