Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients comprehensively and use clinical judgment to guide care decisions
• Develop individualized plans of care and implement evidence-based interventions
• Provide patient and family education to support recovery and informed decisions
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate safe perioperative care
• Perform circulating and/or scrub responsibilities when assigned to the OR
• Promote a safe environment and participate in quality improvement efforts
• Demonstrate leadership in the clinical setting and support colleagues’ development
• Maintain stroke competency and follow protocols for hyperacute and acute stroke care

Qualifications

• Montana Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum 18 months of RN experience
• Preferred: CNOR certification
• Preferred: 1 year circulating experience and 1 year scrub experience
• Ability to work varied shifts and take on on-call responsibilities
• Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred; Associate degree or Diploma in Nursing accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative and operating room nursing practices and safety
• Patient assessment, diagnosis, care planning, implementation and evaluation
• Patient and family education techniques and documentation
• Clinical leadership, professional standards, and regulatory compliance
• Stroke care protocols and cerebrovascular disease education requirements
• Ability to function well in a busy, high-acuity environment with tact and discretion
