Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Neuro Stepdown (SDU) patients
Perform frequent neurological assessments and closely monitor patient status
Administer medications and manage IV/infusion therapies safely
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and case managers
Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
Educate patients and families on care plans, goals, and discharge instructions

Qualifications

Active RN license (Louisiana preferred or compact RN license as applicable)
Experience working in Neuro Stepdown, SDU, or similar telemetry/stepdown setting
Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred
Strong assessment skills with comfort managing complex neuro patients
Reliable, professional, and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Skilled in neurological assessment and recognition of changes in neuro status
Experience with cardiac telemetry and monitoring equipment
Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
Excellent clinical documentation and time management skills
Clear communication and teamwork skills for high-quality patient care
