Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert telemetry nursing care for adults and geriatrics across MS-Tele and specialty units
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and intervene per protocol to keep patients safe
• Titrate heparin drips and manage medication infusions within unit policy
• Float across units (cardiac, neuro, oncology, rehab, renal, ortho, trauma, ED obs) while maintaining high standards
• Document care accurately and efficiently in EPIC to ensure continuity and quality
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory therapists and aides, to coordinate patient care
• Serve as support for charge duties when needed and help maintain unit flow and patient assignments
• Contribute to a positive patient experience through compassionate, evidence-based nursing

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license for the state of Colorado
• Minimum 2 years of MS-Telemetry (MS-Tele) nursing experience (explicit requirement)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Comfort and experience with float-pool work and multiple acuity levels (ICU/PCU/Stepdown familiarity preferred)
• Experience with EPIC charting system
• Ability to titrate heparin drips per unit policy
• Valid driver’s license required (DL must be submitted) and willingness to travel within a 60-mile radius
• Ability to be in-state for week-of-orientation and to secure housing that supports floating throughout the zone

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• BSN: Not required (Associate Degree or Diploma acceptable); BSN welcomed if available

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Assessment and management of adult/geriatric patient populations
• Neuro assessment basics (NIHSS familiarity preferred)
• Familiarity with ventilator adjuncts: CPAP/BiPAP and basic vent concepts
• Strong prioritization, triage, and delegation skills in a fast-paced acute care setting
• Solid documentation skills in EPIC and effective interdisciplinary communication
• Ability to adapt quickly when floating to different specialties and facility workflows
