Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 6:00 AM, every other weekend and holidays required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients with CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, and CKD on a busy 18-bed telemetry unit
Interpret telemetry strips and monitor cardiac rhythms to ensure patient safety
Manage a 6:1 patient ratio while delivering excellent time management and communication
Collaborate with PCTs, Charge Nurses, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
Float to other med/surg units as needed, bringing your expertise wherever it's most valuable
Support patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy

Qualifications

Active RN license in Texas or compact license
Current BLS certification required
Strong telemetry strip interpretation skills
Excellent communication and time management abilities
Willingness to float to all med/surg units and work every other weekend and holidays

Knowledge & Skills

Telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation
Care for patients with CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, and CKD
Managing CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen patients
Effective collaboration with PCTs and nursing leadership
Adapting to different med/surg units through floating
